Located approximately 1 mile south of the suspected location of the Toothman home and 1/2 miles from the southern boundary of the Toothman farm, the south slope of the mound indicated by the circle on the above image is where the rebel cavalry caught up with the beleagured detachment of the 1st Kansas Colored Volunteers.
